Muyuna is a small and intimate eco lodge located in the primary amazon rainforest of the Tamshiyacu-Tahuayo Reserve, 3 hours upstream from Iquitos. Due to this privileged location we guarantee an authentic experience of immersion in nature and its biodiversity (you will see sloth, monkeys, birds, pink dolphins, piranhas, etc.) 100% wild and free.

Muyuna also maintains strong ties with local communities along the Amazon River.

We prepare peruvian food accordingly with the dietary restrictions of our guests. Our vegan options include beans and tofu or soy as proteins

ARQUITECTURE / FACILITIES

Muyuna has been designed and built with the support of the San Juan de Yanayacu community, incorporating a traditional architectural design inspired by the jungle.
The entire eco-lodge is elevated on sturdy wooden platforms, a necessity given its location along the Yanayacu River where water levels fluctuate with the seasons. The lodge’s walls and floors are crafted from locally sourced wood, while the ceilings are intricately woven from palm leaves. To ensure a comfortable stay, every window and ceiling in the lodge is equipped with protective mosquito nets. Solar-powered roof fans are strategically placed in all our rooms and common areas to mitigate the heat of the jungle.

THE BUNGALOWS

17 bungalows designed for complete privacy, each independent and tailored to the specific preferences of our guests, whether they are individuals, couples, or families.
Every private bungalow is equipped with a spacious bathroom providing hot water, along with biodegradable shampoo, conditioner, soap, and detergent for your laundry needs. Additionally, each bungalow features a private terrace furnished with hammocks, offering a tranquil space to relax while admiring and listening to the symphony of nature.

PACKAGE INCLUSIONS

We offer minimum 2 nights of stay at the lodge, including transfer in and out from the airport or hotel in the city at specific schedules (Pick up 9 am / Drop off 4 pm).
Full board, activities and excursions, english and spanish guide (other languages upon request and additional cost. Included for groups from 6 people or more).
Not included: air tickets, drinks, tips.

Activities included in all our packages

• Walks to learn about medicinal plants and their uses.
• Hikes in search of monkeys, sloths, mammals, etc. in its natural habitat.
• Walks in the night, on foot and by boat, to look for nocturnal animals (alligators, toads, frogs, insects, snakes, tarantulas, fireflies, etc.).
• Walks in canoes, paddles, and kayaks along the tributaries and lagoons near the Muyuna.
• Excursion to observe birds like the prehistoric bird Hoatzin (Opisthocomushoazin).
• Swim in the Amazon River and in the lagoons. You can see the pink and gray dolphins. Take note that they are found in their natural habitat. Do not expect to touch them or have a selfie.
• Excursions to see the Victoria Regia, the largest aquatic plant in the world.
